Dr Wayne Visser is Director of the think-tank and media company, Kaleidoscope Futures, and describes himself as a professional idea-monger, storyteller and meme-weaver. His work as a strategy analyst, sustainability advisor, CSR expert, futurist and professional speaker has taken him to over 70 countries in the past 20 years to work with over 130 clients.
Wayne is a prolific writer and global lecturer, believing that we learn the best by constantly challenging ourselves to research, teach and write. He is the author of 25 books – including, most recently, The World Guide to Sustainable Enterprise – and a guest columnist for The Guardian newspaper. He is an Professor in Sustainable Business at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in South Africa and a Senior Associate and Masters Tutor at Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Wayne has been recognised as one of the world’s top 48 ‘thriveability’ leaders (2015) and top 70 ‘sustainerati’ (2015), a top 100 influencer on Twitter in CSR and sustainable business (2014), a top 100 thought-leader in trustworthy business (2013) and a top 100 global sustainability leader (2012). He is also the recipient of the Global CSR Excellence & Leadership Award (2013), the Emerald Literati Outstanding Author Contribution Award (2011) and the Outstanding Teacher Award of the Warwick MBA (2010/11 & 2011/12).
In 2009, Wayne founded CSR International, after obtaining a PhD in corporate social responsibility in the UK and having previously served as Director of Sustainability Services for KPMG and Strategy Analyst for Capgemini in South Africa. His other qualifications include an MSc in Human Ecology (Edinburgh University, UK) and a Bachelor of Business Science with Honours in Marketing (Cape Town University, South Africa). Wayne now lives in Cambridge and enjoys art, nature, writing poetry and learning about new countries and cultures.

I am Director of the GIBS Integrated Value Lab, which does research and knowledge transfer in six thematic areas: integrated value, strategic futures, systemic leadership, sustainable enterprise, inclusive business and circular economy. I also served as the Transnet Chair of Sustainable Business from 2014-2016.
